SBE’s Maureen Correll Named Graduate Student of the Month
SBE graduate student Maureen Correll was named University of Maine graduate student of the month. The University of Maine Graduate School chooses students based on their academic work as well as their involvement with the graduate community. She is currently the president of Graduate Student Government, which operates on a separate budget from the University and acts as an advocate for all graduate students on campus. She is researching the biogeography of tidal marsh birds between the Canadian border and Chesapeake Bay in Virginia, focusing on habitat use and specialization in the Nelson’s Sparrow and the Saltmarsh Sparrow. She is co-advised by SBE Professor Brian Olsen and Wildlife Biologist Thomas Hodgman. Congratulations Maureen!
