Earth.com covered a study on how trees respond to climate change that was co-authored by Brian McGill, a professor of ecological modeling at the University of Maine, and Daniel Laughlin, a professor at the University of Wyoming. By researching how 188 North American tree species respond to temperature changes, the study found that species could grow and survive at a common, moderate temperature even though most are found in either warm or cold environments.
