Former SBE Graduate Student Beth Choate’s Research for USDA

Are there opportunities awaiting you once you graduate from UMaine? Of course! Beth Choate, a former graduate student in the School of Biology and Ecology, is now doing research for the USDA- Agricultural Research Service in South Dakota. Her current research is focused on the relationship between lady beetles and wheat aphids. Though Beth certainly has herself to thank for her position, she feels that her graduate education in SBE prepared her for the next leg of her journey. Regarding her graduate experience at UMaine Beth said, “My graduate education provided me with the skill set, knowledge, and work ethic to make me successful in a variety of jobs.”
